Each painting is a personal response to the subject on a particular occasion. Often there is a story behind the work. Colour and texture are important and the often apparently disparate collection of objects and marks is following a series of thoughts.

By placing recognisable images in a setting, often combining interior and exterior locations, alongside abstract marks, these paintings are about random thoughts, daydreams, the disconnected ephemera that skip back and forth in the mind. The story found by the viewer may not necessarily be the artist's story, but different viewers may weave different meanings.
